As you work your way to an 850 credit score, you’re going to want to check your progress periodically. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to easily check your credit scores for free! This is because Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion have all granted certain banks and financial services access to your credit scores. If you are a customer of one of these banks or services, you will have free access to your credit score simply by logging into your account.
If you happen to not be a customer of one of these companies, you will still be able to see your credit scores, just most likely not for free. As an alternative, you can purchase your credit scores directly from one of the three major credit bureaus or FICO itself.
Regardless of how you get your credit score, you’ll want to make sure you know exactly what score you are looking at. Since there are a variety of credit score types and versions, read the fine print to see what type and version are actually being shown to you. This can generally be seen on the same screen you are viewing your credit score.
Knowing exactly what credit score you are being shown will help you accurately track your progress and better prepare for getting a new loan or credit card. If you know exactly what score your lender will be viewing, get whyze and access it before you apply. This will make sure your credit score is in good shape!
